- OpenOffice
Microsoft Office, without the Micro. Or the soft. Which is good, because if you put those two words together, it spells out about $500. This is a truly great program, which I can highly recommend. Especially for those of us who have more than one computer, but not near enough money to put Micro$oft on both. - Notepad ++
I just started using this. It's great, a really wonderful, lightweight coding tool. I'm not quite sure if it'll replace Homesite in my arsenal, but it's really good. - Blender
I love this program. I'm terrible at it, but it's so much fun. Blender is a 3D modeling and renderer program, that can pretty much do anything. It even has a game engine with a physics system built in. Very cool, for anyone interested in movies or games. - VLC Player
This little player will play *anything* you throw at it, whether it's a DVD, or some youtube video you downloaded in some obscure format. I've yet to find a video it can't play right out of the box.
